PAPERBACK ONLY. As some of you may have noticed, and read on social media, Davide Castellazzi is no longer the editorial director of Nippon Shock Magazine. We would like to thank the previous editor for his dedication and professionalism in launching this initiative. We are deeply disappointed, as Castellazzi, together with the team at Nippon Shock Edizioni, created a true gem, which, however, the market hasn't fully embraced. Too few have appreciated the "flip magazine" format with its manga section, and too few have appreciated the magazine's very target audience, which focuses primarily on contemporary and lesser-known manga. Sometimes in life, things don't go as expected, and a team designed to achieve results fails to fully deliver. Therefore, we've had to make some adjustments. Nippon Shock Magazine is doing so in a slightly modified format: stapled, the best solution for a magazine that, starting this month, will consist of 80 full-color pages. We want to give more space to editorials and in-depth features, also focusing on the manga and anime productions that have shaped the history of pop culture in our country. Fewer pages, therefore, but more space for information. Therefore, this February issue features the final pages dedicated to manga, with the concluding pages of Stefano Tamiazzo's story, "Niente Succede per Caso," which seems to adapt to these new changes. Starting in March, the magazine will be a more open-minded in-depth magazine with new columns but no manga pages. No longer a magazine dedicated "primarily to manga," therefore, but one that will also provide space for classic anime, tokusatsusentai, retrospectives, and everything else that has always characterized Nippon Shock Edizioni, which, since its founding, has been open to classic productions, beloved by its director. Therefore, this February issue is entrusted to the undersigned, who wishes to guide it forward and entrust it into the expert hands of someone who can take care of it, as the previous director did. The graphics remain the same, as Marco Guerra, who has been designing it every month since the first issue, remains firmly in place. The contributors who have written so far will continue to do so, accompanied by new contributions from industry experts for new topics and columns. Stay tuned, you won't regret it.
