At a time like the present, when manga has captured popular attention, enjoying both audience and sales success, Nippon Shock Edizioni has decided to create a new monthly magazine to meet the numerous requests from fans who have long been without a print publication to satisfy their need for traditional reading. Thus was born NIPPON SHOCK MAGAZINE, a monthly magazine covering manga, anime, cosplay, music, film, interviews, and Japanese pop culture. It will be edited by a well-known name in the industry, Davide Castellazzi, a prolific writer and collaborator with major publishing houses, who brings with him the experience of a profound knowledge of the Japanese world, both real and fictional. The magazine, of course, is not intended to be a paper duplicate of the major industry blogs, but rather to satisfy a quick and immediate search for information. Nippon Shock Magazine aims to carve out a niche for itself as a repository of in-depth coverage of the entire Japanese pop culture scene. Manga and anime naturally constitute the main content, curated by leading figures in the field, including Castellazzi himself, Andrea Dentuto and Cristina D'Auria, Mario Rumor, Francesco Chiatante, Germano Massenzio, and many others who will take turns publishing. To offer something different from the web, Nippon Shock Magazine will consist of 144 pages divided into two halves, or two parts, with two different covers: the Magazine Section and the Manga Section. 1 - The Magazine Section is read in a Western way, consisting of articles and editorials illustrated in color, and will have its own cover. 2 - When turning the magazine over, the reader will find themselves with a manga magazine with its own cover and Japanese-style reading. The manga are selected by Davide Castellazzi himself from emerging authors and others with strong expertise in the Japanese scene; Nippon Shock Magazine will therefore feature previously unpublished material, allowing the discovery of artists otherwise unknown to the Italian public. Therefore, the reader will find themselves with two magazines in one. The goal is to satisfy the needs of collectors and enthusiasts with a modern, comprehensive, and versatile collectible magazine. Nippon Shock Magazine will be published monthly and will be available for purchase at comic book stores and newsstands. The first issue is scheduled for release at the end of June and will cost €9.90. With this initiative, "the publishing house with the Ronin brand" is placing itself at the center of an ambitious publishing project that respects the culture of this art form today. NIPPON SHOCK MAGAZINE AWAITS YOU FROM THE END OF JUNE TO MAKE YOU FEEL PART OF A WORLD OF DREAMS AND DRAWINGS. Start alerting your local retailer (newsstand or comic book store) now.
NIPPON SHOCK EDIZIONI announces that the latest work by legendary sensei Ippei Kuri will be released in Italy under the Roman publishing house's "ronin imprint." The manga "TSUBANARI KENSHIRO AND THE DEMON-SLAYING SWORD" is a historical story in CHAMBARA style, combining classic Japanese horror with superhuman powers. It will be a single volume, scheduled for release in the second half of 2021. Nippon Shock Edizioni acquired the rights from SPN WORKS, which published the volume in Japan in 2019. The "regular" edition is scheduled for release in the second half of 2021. The Italian translation will be by Edoardo Serino. The volume will be distributed through major Italian distributors for comic book stores and bookstores. Meanwhile, Sensei Ippei Kuri, also publishing it on his Facebook profile, has signed and stamped the Italian cover of what will be the "ULTRA LIMITED DELUXE" edition of "TSUBANARI KENSHIRO AND THE DEMON SLAYER'S SWORD" that Nippon Shock Edizioni has created for the most discerning collectors. ULTRA LIMITED DELUXE EDITION as it is of high quality, signed and stamped by master Ippei Kuri with embossed gold paint and in large A4 format (21cm wide x 29.5cm high). Only 50 copies are available for collectors as Sensei has agreed to sign only 50 and not one more. Only these copies, authenticated by Sensei Kuri, will have the cover with GOLD silkscreen, as can be seen in the attached video, which will be made available to those who first request them from the editorial staff of the Roman publishing house with the "ronin mark". Anyone wishing to learn more about the ULTRA-LIMITED gold edition with Sensei Kuri's stamp and signature should contact the editorial staff at Niippon Shock Edizioni at info@xpublishing.it. They will receive a reply with all the information they need to be added to the purchasing list until the 50 available copies are sold out. Ippei Kuri is a living legend of Japanese animation, co-founder of TATSUNOKO Pro with his now deceased brother Tatsuo Yoshida and creator of dozens of characters that have made anime history (Tekkaman, Kyashan, Polymar, Gatchaman, Ape Magà, Judo Boy, etc.). TSUBANARI KENSHIRO, according to Sensei Kuri, is his absolute last work, as he has no intention of working on other manga in the future, given his venerable age, and this makes this publication even more important from both a collector's and cultural standpoint. A manga that took 8 years to complete. If the drawings are by Sensei Kuri, he is joined by another sacred monster in the scriptwriting: AKIYOSHI SAKAI, very active between the 70s and 80s, author of an innumerable series of legendary anime scripts (from Tatsunoko to Baldios, Golion and Daikengo among many others).
SENSEI TAKASHI SAIJO ARRIVES For the first time in Italy, the great animator of Tatsunoko Pro will meet directly with the public in Rome on Sunday, October 6th. Sensei will hold a meeting-conference with fans entitled "THE CHARACTERS OF JAPANESE ANIMATION AND THE ENERGY THEY RELIEVE". At the end of the meeting, the Master will sign prints based on original drawings of Hurricane Olimar and Yattaman created specifically for this occasion. For those unfamiliar with Sensei Saijo: One of the main animators during Ippei Kuri's golden age at Tatsunoko Pro, having worked on historic and legendary anime and series. Animator and Character Designer, he was born in 1949 in Hokkaido. In 1965 he began working at the Hatena Pro studio, debuting as an inbetweener on the "Astro Boy" series. Subsequently, he worked on successful series acclaimed in Italy as well, such as "Superauto Mach 5," "Judo Boy," "Kyashan," "Hurricane Polymar," "Yattaman," "Tommy the Giants," "Sampei," "Gigi the Spinning Top," and "Ape Magà," among many others. During his career, Sensei Saijo also held roles as Character Designer on the series "Angel Heart," the alternative sequel to the well-known "City Hunter," as well as animation director on highly successful productions such as "Naruto" and "Death Note." Since 2011, he has run an "Energy Salon" in central Tokyo, where he heals the spirit through readings and drawings, harnessing his own "inner energy." The meeting will take place on October 6th, in the conference rooms of the POLO FORMATIVO DI ROMA, at 2:30 PM. Sensei will not have any other meetings and will not have time to complete commissions, as he is passing through Italy and will leave for Japan the following day. This is therefore the ONLY OPPORTUNITY to meet him, shake his hand, hear from his own voice the experiences of a talented animator, capable of sharing an inner message that we all perceive in our beloved productions of the Rising Sun and, finally, to have the signature of a living legend on one of his works. For INFORMATION NIPPON SHOCK EDIZIONI: Cell/Whatsapp: 3275680301 Email: info@xpublishing.it - nipponshock@gmail.com www.nipponshock.com www.xpublishing.it * The topic will be discussed by Sensei in relation to the relationship between the concept of "Hero" in animation of the Rising Sun and the concept of SPIRITUAL ENERGY in Japanese Tradition. A profoundly close relationship is the figure of the Spiritual Warrior, and his mastery of "Ki" and Energy, an archetype that all manga and anime characters are inspired by and shaped by their creators. Sensei Takashi Saijo's meeting will be preceded in the morning (11:30 am - 1:00 pm) by a meeting with Japanese Martial Arts and Inner Growth Practices Master RENNON LEE. To introduce the topic of Energies and the Spiritual Warrior, he will address the audience on the topic "LET'S LEARN ONE OF THE SECRETS LEFT BY THE SAMURAI." The two meetings are linked in theme, but it is also possible to attend each meeting individually.
